Champion programme FAQ

1. What does the consultation include?

Our consultation consists of two sessions (1.5 hours per session), including:

  • A psychologist meeting with both youth and parent.
  • Strengths and interests questionnaires (e.g., Values in Action, Multiple Intelligence).
  • A taster course for the youth to explore programme options.
  • A comprehensive written summary and recommendations for the family.

The entire process is designed to affirm your child’s strengths and identity.

2. How does the programme help my child find direction and excel?

The Champion programme focuses on positive identity development through competence-building and community connection. We:

  • Affirm each child’s unique identity and strengths.
  • Support both mindset and skills growth.
  • Offer tailored tracks in both the Arts and Science.
  • Foster parent-child interaction for lasting positive change.

3. We already know our child’s strengths and passion. How can your programme help?

Beyond developing job-specific skills, we nurture social and emotional skills essential for success in any field. Our programme helps youth build confidence, resilience, and positive self-identity—equipping them to thrive in their chosen direction.

4. Is the programme suitable for my child if they have multiple challenges?

We serve youth with mild to moderate ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and certain mental health concerns (e.g., mild depression or anxiety). Each case is individually reviewed by our psychologists.

Please note that this programme is not currently equipped for Youth in crisis with active suicidal ideation, disruptive/defiant behaviours, or complex gender identity issues requiring specialised support.

5. How is your programme different from other strength-based or interest-based programmes?

Our programme uniquely integrates:

  • Skills development in STEAM, Design, and Media.
  • Parent-child mentoring and coaching.
  • Community engagement projects.
  • A holistic approach to identity development, resilience, and social-emotional learning.

7. Is financial assistance or a free trial available?

At this time, the pilot programme is not free, and we ask families to wait for future funding opportunities if they are unable to pay the minimum session fee.

8. Can my child join without parent participation?

Parent involvement is essential. For the pilot, at least one parent must participate in the consultation and, ideally, the final 4 sessions of the course. This ensures maximum benefit for the youth and family.

9. What results can we expect after completing the programme?

You can expect your child to demonstrate:

  • Improved skills and confidence.
  • Better social interactions and emotional well-being.
  • Stronger sense of self and community connection.
  • Enhanced positive identity and resilience.
